Self-hosted · Windows · Your Library
Hearth is a personal media server for Windows. Movies, TV, music, audiobooks, and home videos — organized, streamed anywhere on your network or the web.
Windows 10/11 · No subscription · No cloud · Free
What's Inside
Five media types, one interface. No separate apps, no subscriptions, no accounts with anyone but yourself.
Automatic TMDB metadata, poster art, backdrops, cast lists, and episode guides. Just point Hearth at your folders.
ID3 tag scanning, album art, artist views, and a persistent audio player that follows you as you browse.
Chapter navigation, per-book progress, and playback speed control. Single files or multi-file folders both work.
Tag your home footage by people, events, and dates. Automatic date detection from filenames and folder structure.
HLS streaming via NVIDIA NVENC on supported cards. Falls back gracefully to CPU transcoding on any hardware.
One search bar across all five media types simultaneously. Find anything in your entire library instantly.
Setup
Hearth installs like any Windows app. No servers to configure, no command lines, no Docker.
Run Hearth-Setup.exe. One installer, no prerequisites.
Set your media folders in Settings. Hit Scan — Hearth does the rest.
Open localhost:8888 on your PC. Your whole library, instantly.
Forward port 8888 on your router. Access from any device, anywhere.
Hearth runs entirely on your own hardware. No cloud, no subscription, no account. Your media files never leave your home network unless you choose to share them.
User accounts are built in — create accounts for family and friends so they can watch from anywhere without touching your admin panel.
